As I approached the ancient Buddhist temple of Ta Prohm, Cambodia, the sun was slowly beginning to bring a ghostly life back to the uncompromising structure. Erected between the 12th and 13th century by King Jayavarman VII, the ancient temple has struggled for survival against the awesome power of the relentless jungle.
The photograph, Ancient Sunrise, was taken just as the sun’s rays were starting to feed through the dense jungle tree line; while the center archway stands triumphantly, in the morning’s first light, just as it has for hundreds of years.
